I Chose OT…
because of the holistic perspective and helping people get back to their “normal” self.
I love how OT addresses a wide range of occupations that people do in their day-to-day lives and the difference it makes if someone is able to perform those daily tasks again.
My Current Work in OT
I work as a travel OT, but my experience is mostly working at level one trauma centers in acute care and in-patient rehab settings.
My Impactful Experience Working in OT
A memorable experience was seeing someone feel like themself again because they were able to dress themself after having a stroke.
They really appreciated seeing their arm gain function after their stroke. And for me, it’s so rewarding to see how they are slowly able to pick up items again instead of relying on just one arm!
